Sealed with a Kiss - 25th Anniversary

Tell us about your company

Sealed with a Kiss began in 1993 as a knitting pattern design house. An early leader in self-publishing, SWAK patterns and books have been distributed to yarn shops and knitters throughout the world. A few years after our inception, we opened to the public offering fine yarns and supplies to those who knit and crochet. Our expertise and experience are unparalleled, and we supplement this by hosting renowned designers and instructors for special workshops. In addition to offering the finest of yarns and fibers, we also create our own in-house line of hand painted yarns and clothing. SWAK is more than just a yarn shop, offering free classes, stylish handbags, and comfy clothing.

What's one thing that makes your company great?

In one word - community! We truly love what we do. Nothing brings people together quite like knitting and crochet. We sell yarn, we teach our craft, but in the process provide so much more. We take our role in creating a sense of community quite seriously, and are very proud of our accomplishments in this area

Why is Guthrie a great community to be a part of?

Guthrie provides a unique backdrop for our business. I couldn’t imagine being poked into a sterile strip mall in an impersonal big city setting. Guthrie is one odd and quirky place, surrounded by beautiful architecture and a unique history creating an environment for our creativity and community to thrive.

Why is your company a part of the Chamber?

Because of our strong sense of community, we are a part of the Chamber. It is refreshing to see the Chamber taking such an active role in community building, embracing the new while respecting our unique history.

What was the last thing that made you smile?

My students. I volunteer at my son’s school (St. Mary’s Catholic School) teaching graphic design to thirty middle school students. Their ideas, stories and accomplishments never fail to bring a smile to my face!
